Several years ago I watched the talk Craig Mod gave on sub compact publishing at Books in Browsers. Based on his blog post of the same title and was one of those ‘aha’ moments when a few things you’ve been thinking about all click into place. His thesis was largely based on The Magazine at that point run by Marco Arment which was built upon Apple’s new Newsstand technology. It was a reaction to the bloated interactive magazines that had started to fill up the Newsstand and called for a different approach to digital publishing, one that leveraged it’s strengths.Read More
I miss viewfinders and don't want to lug around a DSLR as an everyday camera. My favourite film camera is my Contax G2 and the Fuji x100 is the closest camera I've found to it. It's really quiet and discreet with a great 35mm lens and a real pleasure to use. The shots in the barbican where taken at iso 3200 which I've never dreamed of using on a digital camera before.
